I first saw Wicked in November 2006 shortly after it opened in the West End. Despite the fact that I had lived in London for 3 years I hadn’t ever been to a West end show, however Michaela persuaded me to go and it was worth every penny. Tony award winner Idina Menzel took the lead role as Elphaba and more than lived up to the hype.
Last night I returned to the Appollo Victoria, this time in the front row thanks to Audra getting up early and queuing for an hour to get day tickets. It was great to see it again with Kerry Ellis in the lead this time. I thought she performed well though she didn’t have the stage presence of Menzel. Dianne Pilkingon who played Glinda was a little disapointing and at times irritating with her falsetto voice. That said, I had a really great night out.

Odd ones that is. I don’t know where the others are, but I’m going to try and spend tommorow looking for them. They’re not all mine by the way.

Finally we managed to get a dry day to get our potatoes in before it inevitably started to rain again. It was a bit of a marathon effort as the ground was too wet, and on heavy clay soil that just does you in really. The onions went in, along with some beetroot and rainbow chard, thought that was an altogether easier affair.
I started digging up some rhubarb that was languishing sadly in amongst the couch grass at the end of the plot. It was on the plot when we took it over, the first year we had a great crop from it, last year it lost out to the weeds and we hardly had anything from it. I’ve moved it now to a nicely manured bed so here’s hoping there’ll be enough to eat with some clotted cream!

No apologies for another youtube video, it’s so funny I had to share it.

I woke at 1am this morning, aware of rumblings and the fact that something was making my bed wobble. In all it was a bit disconcerting, especially when your husband happens to be in Edinburgh at the time. I put the light on to check that there was not an intruder pushing the end of the bed, and then went back to sleep.
This morning I was relieved to discover that I wasn’t completely off my head, but had infact experienced the largest earthquake in the UK for 25yrs.

If you don’t have tears streaming down your face after watching this, then you may need to get help.

My popularity is clearly on the increase as I have been tagged by two people at once, Cath and Rev Know Tea.
So here are a few sentences from page 122 of the nearest book which happens to be “The New Messies Manual - The Procrastinators guide to good housekeeping“ by Sandra Felton.
( I’m sorry but I thought it was much more interesting than page 123, and this is my blog after all.)
Nothing could be so stressful as living the way I was when
I couldn’t find my clothes to get dressed without a search party,
keys were often lost,
papers were so permanently misplaced that it was the same as not having them,
I endured more insults from my messy house than most people can imagine.
Matching socks, receipts to return things (even the things to be returned), school papers to be signed and returned, clean underwear when required on a consistent basis - all of these were unknown in my house.
